The site lists two different PS4 models, one with a 500GB hard drive, the other with a 1TB hard drive. It doesn’t seem like either model will be a redesign of the current PlayStation 4 system, rather just a hard drive upgrade.
PS4 Original Specs
As well as a bigger hard drive, the new console will have a reduced power source of 230 watts, as opposed to the current 250 watts. The newer models will also be lighter in weight, going from 2.8kg to 2.5kg, and yet the box will be the exact same size. This may not seem like a huge difference but it shows that little over a year on the market and Sony are already finding ways to improve the console and make it more energy-efficient.
Fans have been clamoring for a 1TB hard drive on the PS4 and Xbox One since they were revealed to have 500GB. As was the case last generation, expect the 1TB PS4 to eventually wholly replace the 500GB model.
This new PS4 model is likely to be announced at E3 2015, so check back with GameSkinny next week to find out!
